Buy “Cheers Gary” now!

While supplies last, we’re now selling my “Cheers Gary” online. If you couldn’t get to Gen Con, now’s your chance to get it. I think there are still several dozen left from the “Gen Con edition”.

Cheers Gary

Gary Gygax answers questions asked by enworld.org posters.

Want to learn where Gary got the idea for mind flayers? Why his parents decided Chicago was too hot for him? (It involves jousting.) What gaming memory Ernie Gygax still won’t talk about? (It involves vorpal swords.)

Buying this book is a great way to learn D&D lore from Gary himself while supporting the Gygax Memorial Foundation. 100% of proceeds from the sale of this book are donated to the Gygax Memorial Fund.

Selected and edited by paul@blogofholding. Introductions by paul and Gail Gygax.

Price: $25 (+shipping)

Edit: The first edition of Cheers, Gary has sold out! Second edition in the works.

I live in Australia and have been a fan of D&D for decades, but am very disappointed that the PayPal form wants $25 for shipping for this book! Most other countries (even New Zealand) have $15 shipping. Can you please reduce shipping to $15 for Australians? Perhaps you can use the USPS flat rate priority envelope? Thank-you very much. I would love to be able to read this book.

  4. paul says:

Let me look into that! I’ll try to find the cheapest way to ship to australia.

  5. Tavis says:

Arbanax, we are working to get it up on RPG.now as an ebook.

Al, if you email me your mailing address to tavis@gygaxmemorialfund.com I’ll see what stamps.com predicts for USPS and then try the UPS calculator.

  6. Robert says:

Got my book today, it was pretty severely damaged in that the front cover, along the bottom, was severely “rippled”, what is the best way to communicate with you about this? An e-mail?

  7. paul paul says:

Hey, I’ll shoot you an email.

  8. AL says:

Any luck on a possible reduction on shipping for Australia?

  9. Tavis says:

Actual shipping to Australia has indeed been $15. If you select the UK as the location for the shipping calculator, it will add this amount; just enter your actual address in the subsequent screen and we’ll work it out.

  10. AL says:

    >>>>If you select the UK as the location for the shipping calculator, it will add this amount

When I log into PayPal it automatically selects Australia & the $25 charge, so the $25 shipping still needs to be changed for Australia.

  11. AL says:

Maybe it is best sold on another site? Or perhaps it can be made into a PDF and sold at rpgnow or similar site? Also, what is its ISBN number (if any)? Thank-you.

  13. Jack Campbell says:

I was hoping to be able to purchase a copy of this book today. Any update on the reprint?

  14. paul paul says:

No update yet. The Gygax Memorial is planning it, but I don’t think they have completed their redesign/layout changes, so I don’t know what the ETA is.

  15. Jeff B. says:

Any word on the next printing yet? I have the money burning a hole in my pocket for it.
